Heresy Era Alpha Legion update!

I put my 30k Alpha Legion army on hold over Christmas as, well, I didn't really have the time for much hobby sadly. Now that I'm back at University though I've finally got a bit more free time (ironically) to work on painting the army and so I've decided to start on the Cataphractii Terminators that come in the Betrayal at Calth set.

Alpha Legion Chaplin Finished!

I'm a huge fan of the Chaplin model

After the horrors of attempting to batch paint it was such a relief to go back to painting one model at a time. Even though he wont be in the final force, I decided to paint the Chaplin from the Betrayal at Calth box-set.

Proxying Models

Miniwargaming Shenanigans

Personally I'm not a fan of proxying models, I mean I'm of course okay with the odd flamer being used as a meltagun and so on but when it starts to get to whole units and especially large models then it can be annoying. I remember seeing a Space Marine player trying to convince his opponent to allow him to use a half-assembled Nephilim Jetfighter as a Stormraven, needless to say his opponent was having none of it.

I know people might just want to try out a certain unit or model that they don't own. I can completely understand this I just find it tends to break the immersion of the game and can be frustrating, especially when you forget the model being used is supposed to be another unit altogether.

The Start Of The Legion

So following the release of Betrayal at Calth I have built one of the Veteran Tactical Squads as well as the Contemptor Dreadnought and the Captain in Cataphractii Pattern Terminator Armour. I've decided not to assemble all of the models at once as otherwise I will take even longer than normal to paint them than usual. I am probably one of the worlds slowest painters as I managed to do the Dreadnought, Captain, and the Sergeant from the Veteran Tactical Squad in four days which is a pretty good going for me tbh.

If only I could afford multiple boxes of this...
